People say that the kitchen is the room where we spend most of our time at home, but I disagree. For me, the living room is really the ‘home’ place where I get to relax after work every afternoon, I get to watch the latest football game, read a book, catch up with my family or have a few guests over. This is why living room decoration is quite important, much more so than that of the kitchen, in my opinion.
The room should be comfortable so when you’re decorating – or maybe re-decorating the place, you need to keep this aspect in mind. It is very easy to uplift the appearance of the room without spending too much money on room decor.
For example you can easily add a few pillows to your coach or love sofa. But you have to make sure that they are actually matching the rest of the decor. If you already have some nice curtains and drapes in place, make sure that the pillows match at least in color or style with your window treatments.
Also simply adding a new pretty vase with some fresh flowers in it can do wonders for your living room. This will keep the room more in contact nature and will make people – even your guests – feel more at home right away.
There are many small items that can add to the room decor, depending on the style you have the room in. For example adding a few decorative statues might be just the thing to spruce up the ambient of the space. Just make sure that you know what the statue actually symbolizes, so you can dazzle your guests with the relevant information should they ask.
Finally, adding a few modern paintings on the wall can also add to the ambient and decor of your place. Paintings can be stylish, modern and contemporary, or classic and elegant, depending on what you buy. You might even have a favorite painter and you might want his or her work displayed on your wall.
An extra tip is adding a gorgeous LCD television set on the wall. This can truly bring out the greatness in any living room and make your friends and neighbors gather in your home to watch together the latest football game with a beer and some snacks during the weekend. Just make sure that the color of your TV and the installation brackets match with the rest of the room decor.
